The end is not so near for budget cuts, State Rep. Mark Ferrandino, D-Denver, told attendees of Club 20’s fall meeting in Saturday in Grand Junction.

Gov. Bill Ritter has suggested cuts that state legislators will take action on when they return to session in January. Natalie Mullis, chief economist for the Colorado Office of Legislative Council, estimates legislators will have to make $1 billion in cuts to the 2010-11 budget, even after a $318 million deficit is filled
